Wesley Property - Serving the Community
We at Wesley are blessed with large grounds and many attractive and useful buildings. For years these facilities have been open to community, cultural and sporting groups for their varying activities, and we find it a joy that the premises are almost always in use. Visitors, too, have commented on the sense of vitality they feel as they see a constant stream of people coming and going from these premises.

Priority of the congregation:
We reserve the right to prioritise bookings in favour of the congregational life of the church.
No alcohol:
Hirers are not permitted to bring alcohol onto the premises as we do not have a licence for alcohol to be served.
Catering:
When the hirer or their provider is catering,they must come before the booking is made to see the kitchen and speak with the Property Manager.
Resources used:
Please note that all resources are to be set up and returned to their storage place by the hirer.
If you plan to use our tv/dvd/laptop, then please arrange to come in and have a practice test run to ensure our equipment can play your dvd etc.
Insurance - Single Event
Synod Public Liability Insurance is $50 for 1 day.
For consecutive days cover:
Consecutive can also mean 1 day per week x days of cover:

$250 for 6-14 days

Please note that payment either via EFT or cheque must reach Uniting Resources for them to issue you with an insurance certificate. Once you have this certificate, then you can proceed to book in to use Wesley facilities.

Key Bond $50.00
Key Bond applies for hall hire outside office hours. This is paid in cash or cheque when picking up the key during office hours and is refunded after the key is returned to the office also during office hours. Our Book keeper will refund via EFT to the details provided by the hirer on the User Agreement.
Cleaning Bond $200
Applies when food is served. A kitchen must be hired for these events.
The bond is added to the invoice and refunded after the event pending inspection by the Property Manager or church representative.

Attendant $100
After hours staff either on call or in attendance as required as ascertained by church staff.
Penalty Fees
The Cleaning Bond ($200) will not be refunded if the hirer fails to clean up and remove their rubbish, and replace all the hired resources in their correct places.
The Cleaning fee ($75 or more) will apply to hirers who fail to clean up and remove their rubbish, and replace all the hired resources in their correct places.
The Overtime fee (Double the hourly fee and charged by the half hour) is easily avoided by including arrival time, set up, pack up, clean up, and departure time in the event booking.
The Cancellation fee ($25) only applies if you cancel within 7 days of the event.
The Late Payment fee ($15) will be added to reminder invoices to cover administration costs.

Vercoe Room
This room provides a calm and restful ambience. It is well heated, fully carpeted and is ideal for meetings and small social gatherings for up to 50 people. A small, well equipped kitchen is nearby and the room also has a piano.

Wesley Kitchen

Wesley Hall
The original Church, this room with its beams and vaulted ceiling always receives spontaneous approval from first time visitors. With a stage, spot lighting, piano, adjacent kitchen and seating for up to 200, it’s ideal for concerts. For a dinner or other events needing tables, such as a trivia night, Wesley Hall will accommodate about 100 people. Its wooden floor is also great for exercise programs. Wesley Hall itself offers about 170 m2, and the stage an additional 88m2.

Lancaster Gymnasium
A very well-sprung wooden floor with courts marked out for indoor soccer, badminton and basketball and with change-rooms and showers available, it is perfect for these and many other indoor activities. It is able to seat 250 for a meal, but has no P/A system or heating. The adjacent Piper kitchen is a big industrial kitchen space, suitable for all occasions.

Wesley Church
Wedding and Funeral fees are $1,800 (includes minister, church, music, organist, flowers, attendant, sound, zoom, cleaning bond).
If refreshments are to be served after the service, then additional charges apply:
- Use of Foyer with kitchenette (see above);
- Synod Public Liability Insurance premium (see above)
- Wesley kitchen hire, if required, per half/part day: (see above)
Heating available.
Wedding couples are required to do an online "Prepare Course".
PREPARE/ENRICH is a customised couple assessment completed online that identifies a couple's strength and growth areas. It is one of the most widely used programs for premarital counselling and premarital education and is also used for marriage counselling, marriage enrichment, and dating couples considering engagement. Based on a couple's assessment results, a trained facilitator provides 3 or more feedback sessions in which the facilitator helps the couple discuss and understand their results as they are taught proven relationship skills. The Wesley Church is an excellent space for suitable music events with seating for around 350. It has outstanding acoustics and Canberra’s largest and most comprehensive pipe organ.

Please note that this is a Uniting Church and while other clergy may be invited to participate, as is appropriate, the services are conducted by the resident Uniting Church clergy within the guidelines of Uniting Church policy or a visiting Uniting Church minister.
Wesley Music Centre
The Music Centre offers a performance venue (for an audience of up to 140 people), professional recording facilities, seminar rooms for lectures and teaching, access to pianos and harpsichord, a foyer and a kitchen, and the booking of the Wesley Church for concerts.

Conditions do apply with our bookings: We reserve the right to have the booking required for the life of the church as our priority.
There will be no alcohol to be brought onto the premises, or served on the premises by our hirers.
