Wesley Uniting Church Council Report to Congregation from 12th June meeting 

Joint Nominating Committee Rev Liz Mc Millan as Chair of JNC informed council regarding procedural matters and next steps to progress the calling of a minister. The breadth, capacity, skills and integrity JNC members have brought to the work was gratefully acknowledged. 

Property Committee Replacement of Chapel glass panels under hail insurance has now been completed and the overall claim finalised. Adjustments to electrical wiring in the Lancaster Hall is also finished along with a range of other maintenance jobs. Particular thanks go to Keith Hart for organisation and communication. 

Wesley Music Scholars 2025 Wesley Music Foundation and Wesley Church staff hope to be able to announce the new list of scholars soon. 

Bequests An updated brochure guiding anyone wishing to make a bequest will be available soon. Preliminary work on this was furthered by Jan Tarbotton, Chris Chenoweth and Sabine Friedrich. We are grateful to each of them for their voluntary professional work. 

Children and Youth 21 June an event supported with the Pulse team will hold workshops 1.30 - 5.30 pm, followed by a worship service 5.30 - 6.30 and then shared supper 

Young Games Night 9/8 Luke Keenan from Kippax UC has for 2 years been organising Young Adult Board Games and meal sharing in the city for young people across the Presbytery. Council is pleased to endorse this event happening at Wesley on 9 August. Publicity will become available or speak to Tessa Bradbury for further information. 

Wesley Forrest, 70th Anniversary plans are being coordinated by Graeme Brown for 17 November. Graeme will be pleased to receive offers of assistance. 

Synod decisions on the topic of merging Presbyteries has given rise to questions about information sharing. Notices each week carry a link to Presbytery news. That link is for sharing local and wider UCA updates. similarly the reports carefully compiled by our Presbytery Reps Jan Tarbotton and Brad Opdyke, keep Wesley people informed.
