Resignation of Kelle McNamara: Council was informed that Kelle’s last day at the Church Office will be Friday, 28 June. Given Cindy Ong’s current leave and to smooth the transition, Kelle has kindly agreed to extend her stay until Friday, 5 July. As Wesley’s Chief Operating Officer and Office Manager, Kelle’s varied contributions and hard work will be sorely missed.
Before advertising for a new Chief Operating Officer, Council decided reviewing office staff arrangements and what tasks each job should involve would be timely and desirable. A small committee including Susan Akhurst and Paul Chen will perform that review and report back to Council as soon as possible.
Nominations for Wesley Music Foundation Board: Vacancies on the Wesley Music Foundation Board will appear due to member term expirations and retirement. Council discussed the procedure for soliciting board nominations to ensure that interested congregation members have an opportunity to nominate.
Church Picnic: Although earlier reported, Council formally approved a proposal by the Children and Youth Committee of a whole of church picnic on Sunday, 27 October 2024, weather permitting. The picnic will be held on the church tennis court lawns.
Seating Arrangements: A church member has proposed that more single chair seating in the sanctuary should be considered. This proposal will be forwarded on to the Property Committee for their evaluation and possible implementation.
