WESLEY CHURCH COUNCIL MEETING 9 March 2023 Report to Congregation

Draft Minutes of the Parish Life AGM 19 February were confirmed by Council and are here. An attendee perceiving the need is to forward any suggested amendments to the chair@wesleycan- berra.org.au for consideration.

Council were grateful to affirm the appointment of Ann Yan, Brad Opdyke, Keith Hart, Simon Cowling, Chris Chenoweth and Geoff Dornan as the Wesley Property Management Committee. Please give these people encouragement and support as they further this work.

Council thanked its 2022 office holders for their work in the previous year.
Election of Office holders for the next 12 months resulted in the re-election of Jan Sismey Chair, Robert James Treasurer and Susan Akhurst Secretary.

Keith Hart was welcomed to his first meeting as a councillor.

In keeping with Uniting Church requirements, Council approved a new Volunteer Registration Form for Wesley. Keeping such records up to date is necessary as an ‘employer’ of volunteers under law and for insurance purposes.

With generous support the Special Audio Visual Upgrading Appeal has reached $22,750. The AV working party will now be enabled to seek updated quotations and proposals for comparison.
This appeal of course remains open.

Council appreciates constructive feedback. A Suggestion Box for that purpose is provided at the Reception desk. If feedback on a proposal is desired, be sure to include your name and contact details (preferred phone number and email address). Furthering action is also assisted if suggestions are accompanied by researched resourcing of people or funds.
